delivering the DALLAS MORNING NEWS

 The job of carrier for The Dallas Morning News is a 365-day per year job. The paper is published every day of the year, and it will be your job to deliver IT.

 Your night begins with picking up the papers at your assigned Warehouse any time between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM. 

When you arrive, you will pick up your night’s share of newspapers. You will then put the papers into plastic bags, which will be provided to you.

Your next step is to load your car with the bagged papers and start your route. You will drive the same route every night. You will have a Route Book, which contains each stop on the route that gets papers, any special instructions for that stop, and driving directions to the next stop. It’s a step-by-step guide that lays out your entire route.

You must be finished with your deliveries by 7:00 AM.

When your delivery is finished, your job is finished. You may go home or anywhere else you want.

The job will take 3-4 hours from start to finish. 

That's  21-28 hours per week. 

To qualify for this job, you will need:

• A car, SUV or pickup truck in good condition
• Proof of insurance. The policy must have you listed as a driver
• A valid Drivers' License
• A smart phone (to run the Route Book app)

BACKGROUND CHECKS AND DRUG TESTS ARE NOT REQUIRED

Depending on the size of the route, the job pays between $200 and $400 per week. The method and schedule of payment will very depending on which Warehouse you are assigned to.

Absolutely. You can have someone help you with the deliveries, or cover for you if you're sick or away. They have to have the same qualifications as you do for the job (car, insurance, etc.)

You're going to be an independent  1099 contractor, not an employee of the Morning News. One advantage of this status is that you will be able to deduct gas and car usage on your income taxes.
